Solarium
noun.
In traditional architecture, any room
exposed to the sun. The term, once referring to open sunporches and
apartments on the roofs of ancient Greek or Roman houses, now typically
refers to rooms that are enclosed in glass.
There
seems to be some confusion as to what constitutes a solarium and
it's differences with a sunroom. Although they are basically the
same, there is one primary difference:
A solarium is built as an extension of an existing room, or as an
additional room within a home. It is a part of the regular living
(or conditioned) space of a home. It must adhere to thermal and
seismic code regulations, just as with any other home addition or remodel. A sunroom on the other
hand, is an external attachment to a home, entered through an exterior
door.
Only
400 of our handcrafted solariums can
be created each year. We have limited our production, to allow us
to build each solarium with an equal amount of quality and care.

is our priority, with each hand-crafted kit. Every piece of wood is
